Well, there are different opinions on that. However, I recommend that if you use no less than Low E argon glass, they can be used at all exposures. Whether or not it is the warm side of the house, the southern or western exposures, or your north eastern exposures where you get less sunlight, the windows can be used anywhere. It can be used in any of those variables. You get the eastern sun in the morning, and you get southern sun in the evening.
Those are your two hotter sides of your house. If you protect your whole house with the low E argon, it will keep the heat or the cool inside your house. So even though you have a cool side, you don't want to deviate from your glass options on that wall. If you do, you are going to lose a lot of heat through that wall.
