There are also cases where you could have very, very large tanks with very small usage, and it might be out 18, 20, or 30 years before you pump. But a very inaccurate, unscientific rule of thumb is that you would pump your tanks in the range of about once every five years, understanding that there are tanks that are small enough or used so heavily that that won't be frequent enough and vice versa.
