The worst part of the Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is that a doctor cannot diagnose any specific illness, though residents in old and poorly ventilated buildings feel distinctly unwell when they have to spend time in such indoor environments. SBS can strike a room, a zone of a building or even the entire structure. It is all very well to blame an old style of construction or poor design, but what can you do if you do not have the option to move in to a modern and excellently ventilated home?

Michael Doman has a workable answer. He is Sales Manager of Austin Air Systems, a company based in Buffalo, New York that is dedicated to helping people protect themselves from poor and polluted indoor air quality. Michael suggest use of air purifiers which can quickly bring fresh air in to a room, and simultaneously filter particulate matter in the air that is trapped inside. This two pronged action dramatically improves our access to clean and fresh air, and most clients of Austin Air Systems experience perceptible effects with reasonable periods of starting to use the air purifiers. Indoor air, free of allergens and toxic gases and odors has favorable and significant health effects.

Doman explains that his company's air purifiers exchange the entire volume of air in an average bedroom up to 10 times an hour. Imagine the kind of effect such rapid and ceaseless influx of fresh air throughout the night can do for energy levels during the day!
There is, of course the bonus that particulate allergens and toxins will be kept out of our breathing systems as well! Air purifiers can be used in all rooms of a house, but it is in the bedrooms where children and adults rejuvenate their minds and bodies each night, that air purifiers offer best returns on the modest amounts they cost.

The US Environmental Protection Agency is of the researched and established view that SBS arises from both inadequate ventilation as well as from contaminants in the air. It is therefore most important that air purifiers address both issues for best effects.

The World Health Organization has informed the US Environmental Protection Agency that about one third of all buildings worldwide have unsatisfactory Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Air Purifiers, with their affordable prices, energy efficiency and durable performance standards, offer a practical and feasible way forward for families and individuals trapped in to breathing stale and contaminated air. Poor IAQ affects both health and productivity. The gains of improving IAQ through air purifiers require consistent implementation, but are sizeable enough to warrant the expense and the effort. Air purifiers are easy to install and require minimal maintenance. Models with carbon and zeolite filters are also available, and they can filter harmful traces of gases and fumes, apart from removing particle 0.3 micron and above in size. The manifold and easily realized benefits of air purifiers justifies recommending their universal use in all areas with poor IAQ.
