Simmering Potpourri Craft

Here is an easy and fun Holiday craft for both children and adults. This simmering potpourri also makes a great gift.

Do you love the smells of fresh potpourri when you enter a home? How about the smell of fresh fruit permeating the air? Well, here is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to make your own fresh scented simmering potpourri. The fragrance will fill your house with intoxicating and invigorating smells. And if you enjoy them, think how much your family and friends will like them too.

Make up a great big batch and pour in a Mason jar, seel tightly, and give to someone as a gift. They are sure to enjoy it.

Simmering Potpourri


1 mango

1 kiwi

4 - 5 cinnamon sticks

6 cloves

1 bay leaf

3 cups of water.

Preparation Steps:

Pour water into pot and place on stove, high heat.

Cut mango and kiwi into 1/4-inch slices.

Add the mango and kiwi slices, cinnamon sticks,

cloves and bay leaf to water.

Heat until boiling. Then adjust temperature so that it continuously simmers.

To replenish scent, add more water.

Of course, you do not have to use the fruits listed above.

You can use whatever fruits that appeal to you.

Play around with them, mix some of them together, experiment.

Sooner or later you will come across a mixture that you like.

Add some strawberries or maybe apple slice with cinnamon. That would be great around the holidays. Pears and peaches are also good ideas.
