Anything overly sensitive should have been written or spoken on the phone or internet already so you'll know a lot about them. Keep it causal, keep it light, and don't talk about ex's unless it's just "I have been single for three years and my ex's name is Cindy." Don't give details, and if you see that they have a grimace or fairly serious look, you have gone too far and need to backtrack to a lighter mood. The whole point of the first meeting is to see if there is a physical chemistry and if you like the person. It's not to get at their history or their financial troubles or any other in depth issue. It is pretty much superficial. Talk about your family and kids, and just keep it light hearted.
