I have heard of them before. I think they use like a Beta-Carotene type of thing inside them. I don't usually recommend stuff like that. I have never ever taken those and I've never ever sold those in any of the locations that I have ever worked before.
They will definitely make your skin change color, but it will look orange. Yes, that's why I don't use stuff like that. I think mostly bodybuilders and people who need to be super, super, super tan use that. They don't really care that they look orange because they are going to cover it up with the bunch of brown lotions, anyway.
