It's easier if you are willing to participate in the technology, but at the same time it makes it more complicated to find a compatible person, which leaves you more frustrated. In the old days before all of this technology, people were meeting in a more organic way like family gatherings or places both were involved in. People were naturally more compatible. Now you can meet a perfect stranger who has nothing in common with you (or just has some superficial things common with you), so when you start dating you find out you are incompatible. That creates more frustration. Technology is good because it opens up the world to us, but people need to realize they'll kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince.
