Thai massage is totally different than a Swedish massage. Number one: it is much more painful; however Thai massage can be very, very effective. I can tell you a story about Thai massage. I had a shoulder injury one time. I thought I had a rotator cuff injury and I was trying to do everything I could to try to help it. I could hardly swing a golf club; I had to warm up for several minutes before I could hit a ball without having excruciating pain. So I was doing everything I could and finally I had a student in my school that was from Thailand. She went to Thailand to learn Thai massage and so I was telling her about this and she said "let me work it out with Thai massage." And so she was working on it and did basically pressure points in different areas, she was working on my shoulder; she was working under my arm and kind of down the side under my arm and putting pressure on those pressure points. And it felt very, very painful; but she cured my shoulder unbelievably and I am forever indebted to her. That's what I know about Thai massage.
