There is a not anything special really. Kids don't have as many problems initially. Type I is what they call juvenile diabetes. A child would be born with the gene and become diabetic. They'd have a special diet and are usually insulin dependent. We also have children now getting type II diabetes because of diet and lifestyle. It's usually not seen until your late 50's, but children often become diabetic because they are not eating properly and are putting on too much weight. It is not as common for children to have a ulcerations on their feet, but as they get older and into their teenage years, they should go and talk to a doctor about their needs.
