There are actually three parks, because the city is so small and so condensed. The West Hollywood Park, Plummer Park and the Kings Road Park. These are the public parks that cater to different kinds of visitors. West Hollywood Park tends to have more children throughout the day and there is a public library and swimming pool there. Plummer Park tends to be a recreation area for more senior citizens. Russian speaking immigrants will use their basketball courts, chess games, and recreation activities. Kings Road Park is more of the kind of leisure park. It's a small park located on the historic Kings Road. There are definitely several parks in the general area like Griffith Park, which is one of the largest open space parks in the country. There are several parks in the LA area, but in West Hollywood specifically there are three. There aren't a lot of biking and hiking trails in West Hollywood, because West Hollywood is more metropolitan. Hiking trials are real prevalent in Hollywood Hills near the Hollywood sign or in Runyon Canyon. There are plenty of hiking trials throughout LA. There may be some camping sites along the Pacific Coast Highway and also in California State Beach. Other than that, there might be some camping sites in Griffith Park but they are pretty much all metropolitan, nothing too rustic.
