Electricity in some areas of Arkansas can be somewhat erratic, especially during severe weather or ice storms. Many areas rely on electric cooperatives, and coops are very diligent about restoring service as quickly as possible, but it is still not a bad idea to invest in a generator.

Many areas in Arkansas, especially out in the country, are not served by natural gas lines. You may need to rent or purchase a propane tank and arrange a propane service contract. Look for a company that will keep track of how much gas you use and fill your tank when necessary. Many people who are used to natural gas forget to check their tanks and end up running out of gas, so such a service is very useful and convenient.

Transportation

Many areas of Arkansas do not have public transportation. This is something you need to check into if you rely on buses, trains, or even taxis. If you are moving to the country, you will need a reliable vehicle, since most places you will need to reach require a bit of travel time. The benefit of traveling longer distances is the chance to enjoy the heavenly scenery.
