Barbados Museum allows the visitor to step back into the history of Barbados. One more museum in Bridgetown is the Barbados Garrison. This is a 17th century British military base of the British Windward and Leeward Islands. Here history buffs have the opportunity to explore a museum as well as fortifications, brigs and cannons. A different type of tour to take involving the history of the area is at Stavronikita. This is a tour to be taken by expert divers who can explore a 360-foot freighter ship that sits in 130 feet of water. The Parliament Buildings are another stop on a historical tour of Bridgetown, Barbados. These are two 19th century buildings, which make them important architecturally.
