There are an immense number of public parks here. Just outside of Ann Arbor we have one of the largest state parks in the Lower Peninsula. There are plenty of recreational opportunities here with hiking and biking trails, canoe and kayak rentals on the Herron River, and camping. There are also about 20 golf courses, and we have one of the largest rock climbing gyms in the country.
One of the best attractions I can recommend for kids would be the Ann Arbor Hands-On Physical Science Museum downtown. It has about 200 interactive hands-on exhibits where kids can actually blow themselves up inside a bubble, create their own interactive television show, and things like that.
There is of course the Michigan Stadium, which is the largest college-owned stadium in the country. It's open to tourists on a weekday basis. Just outside of Ann Arbor, we also have the Jiffy Mix Factory, which is the factory that produces all the Jiffy mixes.
We have the Gerald Ford Presidential Library on the University of Michigan campus, and we also have one water park called the Rolling Hills Water Park that's about a 15 minute drive from Ann Arbor.
To relax, go to the Nickels Arboretum, which is a 123 acre park on campus. You can sit there and overlook the city and the Herron River.
