We have lots of museums and art galleries. The International Surfing Museum is right downtown and has a number of artifacts related to surfing like Dick Dale's Guitar, Bruce Brown's Camera, and lots of historic photos, posters, and surfboards. We have the Huntington Beach Art Center also right downtown and that presents artists of national and international prominence. They have rotating exhibits throughout the year. We have a facility called the Newland House Museum which is the oldest building in Huntington Beach. It was built back in 1898 when you could see for miles up to Newport Beach. Today it's surrounded by million dollar homes and malls, so you can sort of get a glimpse into what times were like before the 1900s. Of course our Central Library is something that worth visiting. It was designed by a world famous architect and is really a landmark surrounded by fountains and water. It has a very well known children's library with a big fish tank. It is a great place to go if you want to get access to the internet on vacation as well. The Queen Mary is a very famous cruise liner; in fact it's one of the most famous ships in history. Today it features 265 hotels, state rooms, world renowned restaurants, a wedding chapel, and is really a floating city. It's listed on the national register of historic places as a former trans-Atlantic ocean liner, and supposedly it's also haunted. We have just 2 golf courses, one of which is in a private country club. They do allow outsiders to participate in tournaments on Tuesdays, though. Our public golf course is known as Meadowlark Golf Course. It was designed by William Park Bell in 1924, has a restaurant, and is open from sunrise to 8:00 p.m. everyday.
