The Oklahoma City Zoo is ranked number three by Child Magazine. It's an incredible zoo and they are getting ready to open a new exhibit in 2007 featuring animals that are native or were once native to Oklahoma. The whole feel of it's going to be like the animals all interact with each other; but of course they are all going to be separated. They can't really have bears wandering around with tigers or whatever. Then also there is Harn Homestead which is a pioneer type, turn of the century place; it's kind of a museum. The Orr Family Farm is here. It's open for students and they do stuff for kids. It's a chance for kids to really get out there and see what farm life is like and kids love that kind of stuff. They have got historic trains, a walk through maze, a carousel and barnyards full of animals out there. The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is a great place for kids as well. It's got a feature up there specifically for children. Younger kids really like the cowboy thing; I know when I was kid I wanted to be a cowboy. We have also got the Myriad Botanical Gardens; what's cool about it is the tropical conservatory. You go in and it's basically a jungle in downtown Oklahoma City. It's pretty incredible. We have got the Oklahoma Fire Fighters Museum. So those kids who didn't want to be a cowboy will then, they probably wanted to be a fire fighter. That's in Oklahoma City as well; it's very close to the zoo as a matter of fact. We've got Frontier City Theme Park, which is a part of the Six Flags family. It's a western style theme park and then also White Water Bay, which is a water park. The Oklahoma City Skate Park was built for skateboards and all that and it's a great facility. Matt Hoffman, a BMX champion who lives in Oklahoma City, recently had a bicycle tournament up there too.
