Chicago is a great destination for culture, nightlife, and of course, is a romantic destination for couples. The windy city is full of romance and fun things to do to add a touch of passion to your love life. Here’s an insight of ideas you could do for your special someone.

1. Have one of the most romantic dinners of your life with a breathtaking view of the city. The Signature Room at the 95th floor is located in the heart of downtown on Michigan Avenue in the John Hancock building. You'll enjoy views of Lake Michigan and the cityscape as you dine. After your romantic dinner head up to the 96th floor to the Signature lounge, where you can share an intimate lounge experience as you sip cocktails, while having a great conversation.

2. Walk the lakefront. Take a romantic stroll up the five miles of lakefront starting from the north side of Foster Rd. to the Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue, where you will enjoy countless stores and restaurants. You could also take a bike ride if you choose and stop for a picnic. You’ll impress your partner if you make an array of different sandwiches, from tuna to turkey. Don’t forget the chocolate dipped strawberries. The beaches along the lakefront are very romantic and a perfect setting for a romantic time.

3. Go on the Odyssey Boat Cruise. This is very romantic and allows you and your partner to enjoy a dinner while cruising on Lake Michigan. Whether it’s for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary, you can get guaranteed window seating and a bottle of chilled champagne to show your romantic side. There’s a dinner cruise, lunch cruise, Sunday brunch cruise and a midnight cruise for those late night hopeless romantics.

Before heading out on your cruise that leaves from Chicago’s famous Navy Pier, surprise your date with a Ferris wheel ride – the 150-foot ride which was built in 1893 for the Chicago World Colombian Exposition, is a great way to show your fun side. Before going on the Odyssey you could also take your date to the Navy Pier Ice Skating Rink for a skate before your cruise.

4. The Architectural Tour explores Chicago's famous architecture. Some of the most notable tours include the Sears Tower, Wicker Park, the John Hancock building and many others.

5. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, located on Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago, is music to your ears and a very romantic idea to share with your partner. Over 200 concerts are held a year, so you will definitely find an enjoyable concert.

6. Try a couples’ massage – you can enjoy the relaxation of a massage in the company of your partner. Try Channing’s Day Spa in Chicago’s Gold Coast or Om, which does a couples’ massage in candlelight or the Tiffani Kim Institute, where they have a Lovers Spa Day – the twosome can enjoy massages, manicures and pedicures together, which is a true romantic time.

Whatever you choose, be sure to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. There are so many must-see attractions for couples to experience in Chicago, whether you live there or are traveling.
