Step 1
Prep your skin. When you apply any kind of face makeup, it is essential that you prepare your skin for makeup application. Cleanse your face and towel dry it gently. Soak a cotton ball with toner and apply the toner to your face. Allow it to absorb into your skin for at least 30 seconds. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer allowing it to absorb into your skin for at least five minutes. Finish up with a makeup primer, such as Bare Minerals Skin Rev-er Upper or M.A.C. Prep and Prime.

Step 2
Conceal what you need to. Whether you are using regular foundation or mineral makeup, it is likely that you will have areas which need a little bit of extra help. Typically, individuals like to conceal dark circles under their eyes and blemishes. Since mineral makeup is a powder, it is essential that you apply concealer before you apply your minerals. Evaluate your face and check for any areas which need additional coverage. Dab the concealer onto those areas and carefully blend it into your skin.

Step 3
Prep the brush. Tap a small amount of minerals into the lid of the cap that the product comes in. Take the kabuki brush and swirl the brush around in the minerals gathering the product onto the bristles. Tap the brush on the side of the lid to remove any excess product.

Step 4
Apply the minerals. Once the brush is prepped it is time to apply the minerals. Starting with the outside of your face, gently brush the minerals onto your skin in a circular motion. One fully loaded brush should cover at least half of your face. When your brush runs out of minerals repeat Step 3. Continue applying the minerals until you have achieved the coverage you desire.

Step 5
Give yourself a glow. If you enjoy a little bit of a glow, apply bronzer to your face. Swirl your powder brush over the bronzer in order to load it with the product. Using a light hand apply the bronzer in a circular motion onto your face. As a finishing touch, apply blush to apples of your cheeks after you have applied bronzer.

Step 6
Apply the finishing layer. Once you have finished applying your face makeup, it is time for the final step. Tap a small amount of finishing powder into the lid of the jar. Swirl your powder brush in the product to gather it onto the bristles. Starting with the center of your face, apply the finishing powder in a circular motion. One fully loaded brush should do the trick. Enjoy using minerals to give yourself that desirable glow.
