How to Use Telenav

By Laura Hageman

  • Overview

Telenav is a type of GPS device that offers directions from one destination to another, and users can use their cell phone to retrieve directions through visual and audio sound. Telenav can be used in Europe and throughout the United States as long as the cell phone has international services.
    • Step 1

Order Telenav. In order to order the program, go to their website and open an account with Telenav. Plans generally cost around $300 and above (see Resources below).
    • Step 2

Get trained. Once you place an order, call (888) 353-6282 or go to the training website (see Resources below). The company requires the user to go through a short training process.

    • Step 3

Install the Telenav program onto your computer. The software can be found on their website. If your cell phone doesn't have built-in capabilities for a navigator, purchase a Telenav Bluetooth GPS receiver.
    • Step 4

Go the Telenav website to use bizfinder. This will allow you to plan ahead and put in an address you need directions for. It will save it into the program on your phone.
    • Step 5

Use arrows on your cell phone pad, click onto the Telenav icon. This will open up the program on your cell phone. Press on "refresh list" that will appear on the screen of the phone in order to see the address you are looking for. If you didn't plan ahead for an address, use the key pad on the cell phone and press in the address you are looking for. It will take a few minutes before Telenav will begin to give directions.
    • Step 6

Listen to the directions offered by the voice-generated program through your cellphone. The directions will begin once you start driving.
    • Skill: Moderate
    • Tip: Plan ahead and put in addresses to places you plan to go to within the next week or month.
