How Do I Get V CAST Coverage?

By Larry Amon

  • Overview

If you have Verizon V CAST and you can't wait to get to the great new music, videos or live TV that V CAST offers, you'll want to know how to get V CAST coverage so you can actually have access to all of these great features. Even if you don't have V CAST and you're just considering getting it, then it's important to know ahead of time how to get coverage.
    • Step 1

Sign up for Verizon V CAST. The very first thing you'll need is a Verizon cell phone and service on the network. You can go to your local Verizon wireless dealer or go to the Verizon wireless website to sign up. You'll need a compatible phone to get certain services; for the mobile TV you'll need either the Motorola Krave ZN4 or the Voyager phone. You'll need to sign up for one of the services with the dealer or on the website by setting up an account.
    • Step 2

Check for coverage. Go to the coverage map on the Verizon wireless coverage locator web page, select the service you are looking for and click refresh map. This will show you where coverage is available. See "Additional Resources," below, for a link to the site.

    • Step 3

Select V CAST on your phone. Use the menu on your phone to access the V CAST and verify you have coverage. For example, to get to the V CAST video, on the phone select the "Get It Now" menu and then the "Picture Video" (or "Get PIX & FLIX") category. Then select "V CAST on Demand" (or "V CAST Video") to launch the content catalog. From here you can select which video you want. If you're seeing videos, then you have coverage.
    • Skill: Moderately Easy
    • Tip: Make sure to look at the coverage map to see if you have coverage in your area.
