The pricing issue represents the biggest misconception among consumers. You can name the destination; it doesn't matter where, and then compare apples to apples. In other words if it's a first class vacation rental, you need to compare it to a first class hotel. If I said that I could put you in an ocean-view suite on a cruise ship for the same price as a smaller cabin mid-ship, you would take advantage of that offer immediately. The problem is that a suite on cruise ship may be 40% more than a regular cabin. It's the same thing in the airline industry with first class versus coach. You pay a premium to have additional space and comfort. Once people find out about vacation rentals and experience what they represent, the product sells itself, the consumer satisfaction is high, and the repeat referrals are high.
