Generally speaking you will get a period of time that the videographer agrees to come and shoot that will usually cover the whole ceremony and the full reception to the last dance. Some videographers will offer either an hour or two more than that to cover before and after, a lot of people want some shots of the bride and groom getting ready. If the videographer has an assistant with another videocamera, often times you can have the bride and groom at their respective locations while they are getting ready.
Their services should include the shooting for the day and edited video on DVD if they are a modern videographer. Most videographers nowadays are offering DVD. It will usually include at least one copy for the bride and groom as a basic package. Most videographers will probably offer at least one or two extra copies, if not at least they'll offer them for sale. From there you get into packages where videographers will offer multiple cameras, additional DVDs, some will offer a highlight video in addition to the regular wedding video that they are going to edit. The highlight video is nice because you can show a quick 10 or 15 minutes video to your friends and family who might otherwise not want to watch an hour long video. Many now also offer photomontages, which is just 25 to 50 or so photos of the couple maybe from when they were kids all the way up through the day of their wedding, as an introduction to the video.
