It depends on where you are. You rarely get rain in a desert, but in places like Oregon, you shouldn't have a problem. I know areas where the source of water is extremely limited, so it's a common occurrence every summer to run out of water. If your aquifer has an immense storage capacity or if it has a large rainy area that recharges it, it's usually no big deal.
