Step 1
Open your mineral makeup carefully. When opening a new jar of mineral makeup, it is best to peel the protective sticker off slowly. The protective sticker covers the holes where the minerals are dispensed, and you want to avoid having an excessive amount of minerals come out. Many choose to poke a few pin holes through the protective sticker so that only a limited amount of minerals is dispensed at a time.

Step 2
Store your mineral makeup in the proper position. Mineral makeup jars should be stored flat, with the cover facing up. It is best not to put these jars in a makeup bag where they can be turned upside down or shaken. This will cause an excessive amount of minerals to be dispensed out of the jar, making it difficult to use your makeup properly.

Step 3
Stack mineral makeup jars. The best way to keep these jars is on a vanity or other flat surface. You can purchase a tabletop makeup organizer, which is a flat plastic tray with sections that allow you to display or stack your mineral makeup jars.

Step 4
Purchase a makeup case for traveling. Your mineral makeup can travel with you as long as you know how to pack it. Use a makeup case with enough room to stack or place the jars of minerals. Once all of your mineral makeup is inside, use a small sheet of Bubble Wrap or even tissue paper to place on top and then close the case. The protective wrap will hold the jars in place and keep them from shifting or turning inside the makeup case.

Step 5
Apply mineral makeup over a sheet of tin foil to catch any loose powder that falls. When you are finished you can wrap up the tin foil and use the fallen powder the next day. This helps you get the most out of your mineral makeup, without losing too much in the application process.
