We have a very distinct fall and spring. Fall football weather in Florida is as hot as it is in Texas. Fall comes a little later than it does up in the Northeast, but spring comes earlier as well. Temperatures in January and February can get down in the 10s and the 20s if a cold front pushes down from Georgia or Alabama. We get snow on rare occasions, but certainly not every year. In mid to late March we get azalea and magnolia blooms. It's not good for your allergies, but it's a great time of year. We have a long hot summer which some people hate and some people love. Our rainy season starts in the spring and goes through the summer. We typically get hard afternoon thunderstorms for an hour or so and then they're gone. We don't usually have steady rains for a week or anything like that. The afternoon rains are nice for washing the pollen out of the air. One thing you need to know if you're traveling here in July or August is that we have a very high humidity level and hot temperatures. It can be uncomfortable if you're used to a dry climate.
