Wedding: The Bride's List Of Items Not To Forget On The Big Day

Here is a checklist of items you will not want to forget for your wedding day, both for the ceremony and reception.

On the day of your wedding, your emotions will run the gamut from excited and anxious to nervous and nostalgic. Chances are, the night before the wedding you will hardly get any sleep at all as you will have so much to think about. Will the caterers prepare the food on time? What time is the cake supposed to arrive? Will the florist be able to deliver the bouquets and centerpieces at 11 a.m. as planned? As the bride-to-be, you already have so much to think about without worrying if you will bring everything you need to the ceremony and reception sites on the day of the wedding. Here is an easy checklist for you to go through to make sure you have all the essentials on your big day. For your convenience, go through this list of items the night before and have them stacked by the front door so you have no opportunity to forget a thing.

* By far, the most important item you will want to remember is your wedding gown and all of the accessories that will be associated with it. For example, you will want to have your veil on a hanger (so it does not wrinkle), garter belt, stockings, shoes and jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet, anklet). If you are following the tradition, don't forget to bring along something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

* If you will be doing your own hair, have a bag full of all the hair items you will need including, but not limited to, a curling iron, blow dryer, hair straightener, bobby pins, hair brush, hair gel and hairspray. However, if you are getting your hair done at a salon a few hours before the ceremony, you will want to take along a few emergency hair items, just in case your hair starts to fall out of place. These include bobby pins, a hair brush and hairspray.

* Whether or not you are having your makeup done before the ceremony and reception, be sure to bring your own personal makeup along for any touch-ups. This includes foundation, compact, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner and lipstick or lip gloss. If you will be getting your makeup done for the first time at a salon, you may also want to bring along some face wash in case you are not satisfied with the job they do there. Some brides have been known to get their hair and makeup done professionally only to take it all down and wipe it all off and do it themselves right before the ceremony, so you will want to be prepared for that possibility.

* After you get ready at the ceremony site and take all of the pre-wedding photos, you might have a little downtime to just relax and wait. Have a few healthy snacks and drinks in a cooler so you can munch on them with your bridal party while you wait for the wedding to begin.

* More than likely, there will be a long period between the time you wake up and the time the wedding begins, so don't forget to pack your toothbrush and toothpaste so you can freshen up before the ceremony. Breath mints and gum are also another option.

* Many couples drive straight to the airport or honeymoon suite after the reception, so have your purse available with your car keys (if you do not have transportation arranged), license and source of money (cash or credit cards). If you are, indeed, driving straight to the airport to jet off to your honeymoon, make sure your luggage is packed and you have all travel documents, like a passport, if necessary.

* If you take medication, be sure to have this on hand for your big wedding day.

* Finally, don't forget to have your groom's ring ready for the ceremony. You will probably hand this off to your maid or matron of honor before the ceremony, but you will not want to forget it at home.
