The groom has a lot on his plate the day of the actual wedding. Here is a checklist of items he shouldn't forget on his big day.
* Unless you are having a truly casual wedding, you won't be able to get married in your shorts, torn t-shirt and old baseball cap, so do not forget to bring your tuxedo and shoes to the site of the ceremony and reception. If you plan on getting ready at the ceremony site, leave your clothes by the front door the night before so you do not forget them on your way out the next morning. Be sure to pack your tuxedo, shoes, underwear, socks and any other tuxedo accessories (i.e. tie. suspenders, etc.).
* To help freshen your breath right before the ceremony (for the kissing of the bride) and between the ceremony and reception, remember to bring a pack of breath mints or your toothbrush and toothpaste.
* You will more than likely have a few speeches you will be giving throughout the day. If you and your bride are reading your own personal vows to each other, be sure to keep them securely in your pocket. Also, if you plan on giving a toast to the bridal party or to your bride at the reception, keep a copy of your toast in your pocket as well.
* Unless your best man offers to do so, be sure to bring along the official copy of your marriage license which will be signed by the officiant and/or witnesses.
* There will be a few items that you will need to hand off to your best man before the big day actually begins. Be sure to bring your bride's ring to the ceremony and give it to your best man who will hand it to you during the ceremony. Also, if you need to pay any fees on the day of the wedding (the officiant, caterer, florist, etc), be sure to bring these fees along in clearly marked envelopes. You may want to hand them to your best man so he can pay them later in the evening.
* Do not forget to bring your wallet with your money and driver's license, especially if you will be driving to or from the ceremony and reception. If you and your bride plan on leaving for your honeymoon that same evening, you will want to be completely packed and have your luggage all ready.
* If you plan on surprising your bride with a gift, remember to bring this along as well.
