BASIC JELLO SHOTS

Ingredients:

1 small box (3 oz. package) of jello - any flavor

or other pre-sweetened gelatin dessert mix

1 cup of boiling water

1 cup of vodka, chilled

Small paper or plastic cups

Place jello mix into a bowl or pitcher; make sure it can withstand boiling water. Add boiling water, and stir well until the jello is dissolved. Allow it to cool for a few minutes. Add the vodka and stir.

Pour or scoop the blended mixture into small cups, filling them nearly full. Place the cups into the refrigerator to chill for several hours.

It is helpful to place the cups in a baking pan or on a baking sheet. It will catch spills and make it easier to move them in and out of the refrigerator.

Keep the jello shots chilled until serving.

OTHER TIPS FOR MAKING JELLO SHOTS

- Chill the alcohol in the freezer for several hours before making the jello shots to make them gel more quickly.

- To make a large number of jello shots, use pizza boxes to hold the cups; they can be stacked in the refrigerator and easily removed one or two at a time to serve.

- To consume jello shots, swallow them whole; do not try to chew them.

- Three ounce plastic or paper cups work well; many party stores carry tiny plastic soufflé cups.

- If you prefer to serve jello shots in real glass shot glasses, dip each in hot water for 15 - 30 seconds before serving to release the jello.

- For less potent jello shots, reduce the amount of alcohol by 1/4 cup.
