The season in our area runs from Memorial Day to the first of the year. We are fairly steady. Our summer is strong, but fall is our strongest time. We have a beautiful fall with changing leaves it's very much like a New England community. You can stay in some of these bed-and-breakfasts and overlook the whole valley and you can see the leaves changing in October. There is a creek that runs through Grass Valley Wolf Creek and so you see the water that drains down to the Wolf Creek. It creates a really nice vista for you to see the hillsides across the valley. It's not that far it's maybe a mile in and you get a beautiful panorama of the changing leaves and the evergreens. You are above the tree line, you are not just in oaks and that kind of forest. You are in the evergreens mixed with oaks, mixed with maples and there is a full spectrum of colored leaf trees. The ideal time to visit Grass Valley probably for a tourist would be in mid-to-late September through mid October, before it gets too cold. Our biggest weekend is Thanksgiving weekend. Any of the big holidays, it's quite crowded. If you came the weekend after that, you would have the same experience without the big crowds and it would be to your benefit.
