Would You Recommend Self-Defense Weapons?

Would you recommend self-defense weapons? Self-defense weapons are safe for people to use after the proper training. Yes, I would, but only with the proper training. You can hand anybody a handgun, but...

Yes, I would, but only with the proper training. You can hand anybody a handgun, but it doesn't mean he is going to know how to use it and it doesn't mean he is not going to shoot himself or his friends by accident. I believe that if you are a law abiding citizen that you ought to be able to buy and carry a weapon once you have been trained on it, and once you know the legal ramifications; once you know that if a guy has taken an old lady's purse down the road, there is no reason for you to shoot him. These are types of things that people have to be taught, because they see so much on Hollywood movies that there is a lot of misconception. A lot of way the stun guns function, in Hollywood, it is also a misconception. So, yes I believe that people should be allowed if #1, they are really able, #2 if they are trained to do so and #3, if they pass the test. A test shows that they have learned what they have been taught and that they just didn't just sit in the classroom, and go through the motions. That goes for knives, self-defense weapons, or guns. Guns are typically sold for defensive purposes, not for offensive purposes for law abiding citizens. I have an attitude that you can own a gun, but if you want to carry it, I believe you need some very thorough training.
